Once a standout swimmer who broke records at Chattahoochee High School, Jay Litherland continues to reach new heights in the swimming world.
Representing the United States in the 2020 Olympics, Litherland brought home the team’s second medal of the international games after finishing second in the 400-meter individual medley Sunday morning in Tokyo.
The gold medal winner of the 400 IM was the United States’ Chase Kalisz, a former teammate of Litherland at the University of Georgia.
For Litherland, the Tokyo games are his second trip to the Olympics. He competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics and finished fifth in the 400 IM.
